My friend Mel requested for something on haircuts. Ok babe, knowing you, you’re going to be greatly disappointed by what I’m just about to say. But it’s true! Thing is, truly stylish girls have the simplest haircuts.
The simpler the cut, the easier to style with and – surprise surprise – the more looks you can create! Which is why, if you think about it, most models have long straight hair: You can leave your hair wiry and dishevelled, iron it out to please the boys, or give it huge-ass, teased up curls.
Either that, if you have the guts, I say go all the way. Get yourself a signature look. Chop your tresses off, perm it, colour it. Get a style people will recognise you for.
Chances are, we’re just tired of the way we look or maybe even how our lives are turning out. And the hair becomes a convenient scapegoat. Try styling it differently first. Don’t cut for the sake of cutting.
Few things you can try out: (1) Change the parting say from side to center, (2) tie it up in a sleek ponytail, (3) in a messy bun, or even (4) pin hair to the side. I’ve tried the ‘pin to one side’ look and had friends asking if I cut my hair- it does work!
