A treat from us!

SL has been receiving so much love since we opened, WL and I want to give back a little this festive season. So we got with our very talented & almost famous illustrator friend Ann Gee to specially whip up 3 designs and turned them into an adorable gift pack containing 1 postcard + 2 bookmarks (all lovingly hand drawn, see designs above & below).
If you’ve always had a thing for our stairway mural [...]

tis the season

We don’t have to celebrate christmas for religous purposes. But that doesn’t stop WL and I from wanting to organise nice, cosy christmas dinners. It’s always nice to have a reason to gather close friends & good food together. And I admit it, I’m one of those shameless festive lover: I love overplayed carols, cheesy decors & the ocassional xmas marketing gimmick [...]

For may

May wrote to us few days ago about accessorising – specifically using earrings – to complement her squarish face shape.
Good news! The chandelier earrings you’ve been wanting to use is very applicable to you. To offset the sharper angles of your face shape, long chandeliar-style earrings are perfect for you. But do avoid earrings with sharp edges or [...]

roses r red, violets r blue

Design Sponge invited artist Lisa Congdon as guest blogger & the theme is really cute. For one week, Lisa will dish out interesting links & lovely visuals according to different colour themes for the day. She’s since done red for Mon & blue for Tues. We’ll get to see yellow & green next. Here’s more!

big breakfast

Ever since we started having our own retail shop, our breakfast standards have slipped dramatically. WL and I have recently decided to pay more attention to our 1st meal of the day. We acted on our new resolution yesterday with geylang’s famous you tiao store, got too enthusiatic with the ordering, over-ate and turned breakfast into brunch.

hit me baby one more time

WL and I feel very prepped for the upcoming festive season already. Other than looking forward to parties & nice dinners, someone really close to us is expecting a baby. The couple (they look underage most of the time) is the first in our group to plunge into parenthood. Expected delivery is today and we’re all very hyped [...]

A long post on how dressing up is more than just putting clothes on

Many years ago, I was PA to this female boss who wore bright colours, out-of-the-world laced-up pants and dressed like she was going ballroom dancing everyday. She was the General Manager of an MNC. Other than doing her work really well (and being quite a tyrant while at it), she did not apologise for the fact that she was a woman and that [...]

sandra backlund

Susie from Style Bubble posted about this amazing Swedish designer Sandra Backlund yesterday. Her clothes look very unwearable but are so beautiful I have a strong desire to make them work for me (perhaps start with travel plans to somewhere wintery).

I used to find clothes that experiment with shapes/forms/textures pretentious and attention seeking. I felt then that the sole responsibilty of clothing [...]

fidgety fingers

My cool teacher friend highlighted this adorable blog to me. Fidgety Fingers will eventually (soon I think) become an online boutique selling knick knacks made from disposed items like magazine paper, wool, and anything salvaged from anywhere! I hope the online purchasing will start soon & that they’ll do really well.
