WL and I have been hooked on Miami Ink since it started it’s first run on cable. MI is really entertaining. Most times, we can’t decide if we should be in awe with the artistry of the tattoo artists, the amount of skin space the customers devote their tattoos to or the stories that go behind each tattoo.

In the show, you see people working so hard to come up with a representation of their emotions and love for something. It’ll be great if tattooing turns into some sort of international past time. Who knows, when we’re reminded of something so tender to our hearts on a daily basis, we might just live our lifes alot more passionately and with plenty more conscience.

There’s LA Ink coming up with the beautiful Kat Von D heading the spin-off. Curious to know how it’ll match up to the original. And ok yes, we’ve been rather inspired (by a tv show no less) to get our own body engraving. I’ll love to do something for my grandma who’s no longer with us. But I’m really put off by the idea of finding the right artist- 10 times scarier than searching for the perfect hairstylist. Till then, I guess we’ll live off the stories we see on tv.

  • You know its funny that you would say ‘tattooing will hopefully turn into an international part time’….Tattooing has its roots in more than a 1000 years of history. Ancient cultures have been and reamin to this day using tattoo’s as a sign of the passage into manhood among many others things. It is not until recently that tattooing has made its way into American culture and is just now started to be excepted by that culture. Overall I agree with you though. It would be nice if the rest of the world could live more passionately through artistic expression.
